The first global contest of mobile applications

As its fourth edition will be held on march 9 and 10, 2010, the conference Le Mobile 2.0 organizes the first international contest of mobile applications development for multiple platforms, the App Awards.

The App Awards contest will be the opportunity to discover numerous innovative applications dedicated to mobile services. Social networks software, geolocation services, streaming apps for music, augmented reality, games…. will be on the agenda of this first edition of the App Awards organised with Marvellous, Microsoft Advertising, Ovi By Nokia, Qualcomm, Sofialys, Streamezzo and Le Mobile 2.0.

The contest is open to any creator of applications, software developers or publishers working in France or other countries, for the Symbian, BlackBerry, iPhone, Android and Windows Phone environments.

The jury – mobile phone industry professionals and journalists – will assess each application, according to its usefulness, ergonomics, interface quality, compatibility, business model and marketing plan.

They will select the 15 best applications on february 15, 2010 and present them at the fourth edition of Le Mobile 2.0 conference on march 9 and 10, 2010. There will be 5 winners, with a total prize of 50,000 euros. The audience attending the conference will be able to vote for their favorite applications.

Each nominee will have the unique opportunity to present its application to an audience of professionals, journalists and decision makers.

Opening date for entries into the First Competition for multi-platform mobile applications – 27 November!

During the last few months we have seen the appearance of numerous manufacturers’ stores, operators, players, over 25 throughout the world! Tens of thousands of applications are presented for a market of over 4 billion mobile telephones. Incredible. Unthinkable 5 years ago. It’s a market pulled by a locomotive (Apple) which has astonished users with its revolutionary terminal ergonomics and services! But what it really fantastic is the fact that the OS mobiles present on the market give hope to thousands of developers, hundreds of companies, that one can become one of the leading applications on these different web and mobile stores. But beyond being seen as an extraordinary phenomena, the application must have a durable appeal in its uses for all mobile internet users.

The conference Le Mobile 2.0 has always placed the emphasis on the innovation of mobile services since the first event in 2007 through the presentation of companies and the competition for start-ups. Here then is the first competition for multi-platform mobile applications which will promote 15 applications and award 5 applications chosen by a jury of our industry experts and the public. A special prize, sponsored by Streamezzo, will be awarded to one which can be used on several platforms.

The website was created to be a visible support for applications by platform and by so doing becomes, after the competition, a catalogue of mobile applications for all subscribers.

The numerous prizes up to now represent a total of €50,000 in licenses, mobiles, assistance with visibility and marketing support by sponsors including Marvellous, Streamezzo, Nokia, with others being added all the time.
